Alicante Airport Disabled Passenger Assistance
I find that whenever I travel I am very focused on myself. What can the airline offer you as a passenger? Where do they fall down with regards to service? Two different groups of people can be on the same flight and have very different experiences, primarily because their needs are different from each other.
As I am a mother of 2 children I have a lot of experience of travelling with children and I have a lot of experience of different airports, I know what baby changing facilities are like, how easy it is to warm milk, whether nappies are sold etc etc. I know all this from myown personal experiences. Obviously if you don’t have children yourself, or you no longer travel with children you will be oblivious to this side of holidaying. Maybe you will only be concerned with the amount of noise that children make when you are trying to relax on the plane!
The side of travelling that I don’t have experience of is travelling as a wheelchair bound disabled passenger. I am not of reduced mobility therefore I haven’t ever had to experience the services offered by the airports for their disabled customers. (My husband did once tear his ligaments whilst we were skiing but we were journeying via Eurostar so obviously that doesn’t count!)
If you have visited the Alicante Airport section of our main website you will see that I have written about the service offered by Alicante Airport for customers of reduced mobility. But writing about services offered is very different to experiencing it for yourself.
Recently my mum and dad made the journey over to visit us here in Hertfordshire and they flew from Alicante Airport to Luton Airport in the U.K. My mum has really been suffering with her back recently and is in a lot of pain. Consequently she has real difficulty walking . She can walk with a walking stick for about 5 minutes but then she is forced to get around via a wheelchair.
So when she made the journey out to see us she was able to put the special assistance service offered by Alicante Airport to the test.
She very kindly wrote up her experiences for me to place on the website. You can read about her experiences here - Alicante Airport Special Assistance Services
