Guadalest Boat

Planning on visiting Guadalest? Make sure you plan a journey on the new solar powered boat

The reservoir that stretches out before you in Guadalest has now opened up to tourists.

A solar powered boat can take you on a 50 minute ride around the reservoir. It allows you to see the town of Guadalest from a completely new angle.

I have found an excellent website which will tell you all about the boat, the costs and how to get there.

It is

On our last visit to Guadalest we saw the solar powered boat from Guadalest but we could not work out how to get down to it and with the tourist office being closed we decided to leave it. Had we pre-planned our visit we woudl have known how to reach the boat.

Driving Directions down to the Guadalest Solar Powered Boat
You need to drive away from Guadalest towards Callosa.
Take a left hand turn sign-posted Embalsa you will then see the sign for the boat (Barca Solar).

Timetable

The first boat journey is at 11.00 a.m. and takes about 50 minutes. It leaves on the hour every hour unless there is strong wind or rainy days.

It will carry 60 passengers and is environmentally friendly.

Here are some photographs of the Guadalest boat - solar powered.
